John Libro brings over 20 years of experience in the collegiate and professional sports business to Circle Media. Libro served as head of Development for Van Wagner Sports/Dorna USA’s team & venue division and was responsible for their Collegiate Business unit representing over 120 college football, basketball, conference and event relationships. In his time at Van Wagner/Dorna, John worked with clients including Geico Insurance, Mutual of Omaha, Foot Locker, Aspen Dental, Progressive Insurance, Continental Airlines and Holiday Inn and New Balance generating millions of dollars in advertising and sponsorship revenue.
John joined Van Wagner/Dorna USA in 2001 to help build out the platform known today as in-venue TV signage and played an integral role in the evolution of the ground-breaking basketball courtside advertising hardware by developing strategic technology partnerships for digital courtside systems. This medium over the years has transformed into the “beachfront property” of teams and leagues throughout the world.
In college football, John was responsible for developing, negotiating and managing Van Wagner’s cutting-edge Field Goal Net platform. This program placed Allstate-branded Field Goal Nets across 94 college football teams and Bowl Games. John also helped build an innovative platform centered on the development of a lower bowl stadium wrap domination program for 15 top programs across the country including: USC, Texas, Miami, Colorado and California.
A graduate and former student-athlete of Rutgers University, previously John was a partner at Vision Pro Sports while also working for The World League, International Division of the NFL, Rutgers University, Athletic Department and the Gazelle Group a Princeton, NJ based sports marketing agency. John currently lives in New Jersey with his wife Kelly, their two children and a massive collection of sporting event tickets that he’s saving to share with his son.
